PERSONAL AND NATIONAL TREASURE
I was happy to see a map showing all the federal lands in the United States on TV yesterday. I found the map several years ago and immediately had two thoughts:
No wonder the economy is struggling in Oregon, where I live. Is this constitutional?
Honestly, I already knew it wasn't constitutional because I'd read the Federalist Papers.
Everything I know about the structure, duties and limitations of the United States government, I learned from the Federalist Papers.
The Federalist Papers is not a reference book, although it can be used as one. It is a complete explanation of the United States Constitution and why we must demand that the constitutional limitations on the federal government are imperative.
I write and send out these emails to entice you into reading the Federalist Papers. And if you've read them, I encourage you to forward my emails to friends who are worried about our beloved country, so they can discover this national treasure.
In the coming days I'll return to the discussion of property. How important
is this topic?
Federalist Paper #10 [paragraph 6]* says: "...Property rights originate
from the people. But men's abilities are diverse, creating an insurmountable
obstacle to equlity of acquisitions. Protection of these abilities is
government's primary function..."
Federalist Paper # 54 [paragraph 8]* says: "...Government is established to protect property as well as people..."
